The Lincoln, at 1222 Locust Street and Camac Street, was originally built in 1892 and over the years has been used as a hotel, a YWCA, and as an apartment building. In 2006, when it was still being used for apartments, a fire destroyed most of the interior. After the fire, a developer had attempted to rebuild the interior as a hotel, but that plan fell through and the outer walls sat vacant for years. Eventually, PRDC Properties bought it and started to rebuild the interior, which had been completed removed by the previous developer, into a new Lincoln apartment building. The largely rebuilt Lincoln still has the noteworthy outer walls, which include much Beaux Arts details in brick and sandstone, but with a more luxurious apartment building inside. Management of the Lincoln is being handled by PRDC and leasing by the TCS team which includes TCS Management, The Condo Shop, and RentPhilly.
The rebuilt Lincoln has 44 rental apartment units. Each unit has hardwood floors, quartz countertops, Samsung stainless steel refrigerators, Frigidaire stainless steel ovens, and Frigidaire washers and dryers. The bathrooms have Grohe shower faucets, Mirabelle acrylic tubs, and Fresca faucets for the sinks. There are 21 one bedroom units. They range from 426 square feet to 825 square feet and in monthly rent from $1,500 to $2,450, in a penthouse on the sixth floor. There are 23 two-bedroom units, ranging in size from 705 to 1,164 square feet and in rent from $2,100 to $4,250, again for a penthouse unit. Some upper floor units have terraces and there is a terrace for all residents on the sixth floor, with stunning views of the Center City skyline to the north and west.
The Lincoln is a continuation of the upscale development in Washington Square West, which includes not only luxury apartments, but also luxury condos and hotels, such as the coming SLS Hotel and Condominium on Broad Street.
